"The potential for mystical experience is the natural birthright of all human beings."

Holotropic Breathwork®

Holotropic Breathwork creates an expanded state of consciousness which quiets the overactive mind and allows physical and emotional feelings to surface. Studies have consistently shown improvements in self-awareness and well-being. Participants commonly report an array of positive benefits including heightened creativity, life changing insights, greater empathy, compassion, and mystical experiences.

Imagine this... you are dressed comfortably, lying on a cushy mat in a darkened room with blankets and a pillow. An eye mask optionally creates a greater sense of darkness. Your sitter, the person who will be available to support your basic needs through the session, sits quietly nearby. The facilitator takes you through a meditation exercise and your body relaxes completely, though there is an undercurrent of curiosity about what will happen this time! You're guided to breathe deeper and faster in a circular rhythm while intriguing music begins to flow through the speakers. The music, with an abundance of percussion and bass, gains traction as the volume increases. You are suddenly on your expanded state journey. Three hours later, you are in a profound state of relaxation, returning from somewhere far away. What you have imagined is the typical experience of so many people of Holotropic Breathwork.

Holotropic Breathwork stands out from other breathwork practices as it provides a foundation for greater exploration of your unconscious psyche. The model for Holotropic Breathwork is based on the principle that we each have an ancient wisdom within that knows exactly what we need for our lives and we aim to create the conditions for that voice to speak to you. Holotropic Breathwork follows a Preparation, Session, Integration model that has been proven effective for expanded state exploration. Facilitators have taken 600+ hours of training over at least two years and commit to ongoing educational requirements and self-development.

Meet Your Facilitators
Tami
I'm Tami Denice and I have been facilitating Holotropic Breathwork since 2017. My first experience of Holotropic Breathwork was so overwhelmingly fascinating that it sent my on a journey of exploration that has lasted a decade.

I am a soul-centered, depth psychology coach, trained by Dr. Bonnie Bright through the Instituate for Depth Psychology and Soul-Centered Coaching and accredited by the I.A.C.T.M (International Association of Coaches, Therapists, and Mentors). In addition, I am a Jungian dreamworker and shamanic Mesa carrier of the Peruvian Q'ero tradition.

I am very excited to bring this amazing modality to Salmon Arm and looking forward to sharing the sacred space with you.

Ariadne
I am Ariadne and I discovered Holotropic Breathwork through a series of synchronicities in 2017. After my first workshop I was astounded by the sense of homecoming I felt. To this day, I am awed when I witness how deeply transformative these experiences can be, not just for myself, but for many others, breathers and facilitators alike. I became a certified HB facilitator with Grof Transpersonal Training (GTT) in 2022.

Over the past 20+ years, I have an MA Counseling Psychology degree and have worked with people at almost every age and stage of life in community and post-secondary contexts in a range of roles including facilitator, counsellor, social service worker, instructor and editor. I believe the holotropic paradigm has much to offer us all as we navigate together with resilience and compassion the liminal, and often chaotic passage of our times.
